At the end of our senior year in Queens College, we (Danielle Fox, Sonia Karmily and Mathias Kranacher) were given a packet of articles as part of our final Journalism project containing what, we did not know.
We divided the packet evenly between the three of us and began reading.
Upon reading, we discovered one common thread throughout: the individuals profiled in each article demonstrate astonishing amounts of skill, perseverance and will, all in the face of poverty, struggle, despair and heartache.
These individuals range from Iraq war vets to published authors to designers. Their triumphs in the face of such obscene obstacles give them all the distinct trait of being considered newsworthy.
Therefore, this blog was created to showcase the dedication and courage these people have demonstrated and the message that each one has sent out – to simply keep on going.
